PLANETARY GEARS

Matex's patented design ensures the planets in the Matex planetary gear systems always share equal loads, resulting in 98% efficiency at a
single reduction with minimal heat loss and noise. At double and triple stage reduction, efficiency is minimally impacted operating at 95%
and 92% respectively. For each additional reduction step, efficiency loss is only about 3%.

The result of an extensive research and development program the Matex industrial planetary gearing system, planetary gearbox and planetary gear sets offer the design engineer unlimited performance possibilities.

PLASTIC PLANETARY GEARS

Matex uses several different materials in our low-cost plastic planetary gears. The outer ring gear is constructed entirely out of plastic while the inner planets and rollers are made of sintered metal. Carrier plates are usually made of ZDC2 but can be made in a variety of materials (from sintered metal to steel) when higher loads demand a more robust material. This combination of materials allows Matex Products to drastically cut weight and noise while still providing the strength required to handle those higher torque applications that an all plastic planetary gear system could not sustain.

SINTERED METAL PLANETARY GEARS

Matex's Sintered Metal gear provides an attractive option for those who have torque requirements that exceed what our plastic models can withstand but require something lighter in weight and less substantial than our heavy-duty steel models.

STEEL PLANETARY GEARS

For those customers with higher torque requirements, Matex offers our steel Planetary gears. Quiet and efficient, Matex steel gears provide the perfect combination of rugged durability and low cost.
