Matex Gears has partnered with Virteom to answer customer questions and showcase the power of our planetary gears through video. Matex Gears offers planetary gears and accessories that are coded to make it easy for you to find the right gear for your project.
In this video blog, we are looking at the variety of sizes we have with our planetary gears, from very small to larger gears for your project needs. Watch and read below!
*below is a transcription of the video.
These are the gears we are looking at to see the various sizes. You'll notice a quarter sitting in the top left next to our smallest gear - this is to help you scale the sizes your seeing on screen. This is our smallest gear which is a 26 millimeter gear and you can see it's not much bigger than a quarter. And then we move to 35 millimeters. This is a 54 millimeter plastic here. Then we move into a 75 millimeter range which we have in plastics and sintered metal and steel. And then we also have a more heavy duty gear which is the 120 millimeter gear. This is a 146 and our largest gear that we sell as a 200 millimeter gear.
What's what's the difference here when looking at the material - plastic gears, steel gears, or sintered metal gears? Plastic is a good option for somebody who needs lightweight or high efficiency at less expense. Maybe you don't need a lot of torque.
There is good reason to go to a plastic if it fits the needs of your unique project or product.
In the video, we demonstrate just how easy it is to stack our gears. It's a big benefit as a customer with a unique project as they try to hit the right reduction ratio. We have that would be the input side. We would put a space between two gears and this was be the male serration would be the input of the second stage and we can put them together that quickly.
Now we have a gear stack that'll do like 25 to 1 instead of 5 to 1. Those are the 5 to 1s. We can also make this in multiple stages. The stacking really helps the the engineer or whomever is managing the project figure out what you know what they want to do.
